Laziness Is A Word

Are we too lazy?  Just imagine a person on a couch not wanting to get up to change the channel.   He or she has the remote in hand and is able to change the channels easily.  He or she is smiling, that's until the batteries go in the remote.  Uh oh!

When it came to writing about being lazy, I wondered if I was being lazy in avoiding doing it.  This almost didn't come to be.  There must be a lazy gene.  It can't be that the person chose to be lazy or is it?  Maybe it's something that is copied from others?

Who's lazier, the person who doesn't clean up the room?  Or the person who hides the mess in the closet?  Is an accountant lazy who doesn't do his own taxes and has someone else do them?  What about a person who takes his car to a car wash instead of washing it himself?  These are some serious questions.  It can define who we are.

The clap on light seems to be a lazy invention.  Rollerblade sneakers can be a lazy activity.  Driving somewhere when you can walk, what do you think?  Lazy!  Not mowing you're own lawn.  Is it being lazy?  Having you're dog get your newspaper.  Is it or is it not lazy for the pet owner?  I think a turtle is not lazy.  It carries a shell on its back.  Re wrapping a gift instead of shopping for a new one.  Hmmm, lazy?  Reading cliff notes instead of the actual book, has to be up there on the top ten laziest activities.

Here's some questions that make you think.  Are we lazier when we're younger than older?  Is it lazy to not replace the toilet paper roll after the last sheet is used?  Is one country more lazier than another?

When it comes to being lazy, you'll hear this, "I'll do that tomorrow".  And then when tomorrow comes the thing doesn't get done.

I would like to invent a lazy machine that will alert you when you're being lazy.  You see something you want and ask them to bring it over.  Before the person brings you the item, you're lazy machine goes off.  It's not going to shock you.  That's too mean.  Instead it lets you know to stop being lazy.  It would make a nice gift to someone that asks you to bring them things.
