Money is going away, but as cash and coins. Now that I've finished that sentence, it makes complete sense of what I'm talking about. Without the green money paper, there's no more cutting down trees. Also ink will no longer be needed. And all those big money machines can be thrown out or put into a museum. I'm all for money going digital, but I will miss finding money on the sidewalk. And I won't miss loosing money.
Once the dollar bill and quarter are gone, then George Washington won't be around and I think we need him. Maybe we an put him on credit cards. Or on the printed receipts. Or when you sign into your wallet on your phone, George Washington's face pops up.
Lot's of people borrow cash. Many times they don't pay you back. And I don't think anybody has ever gone through life without lending a dollar bill to someone and never getting it back. If this was a bank, you know there would be interest on top of the loan. So when paper money and coins are gone, then how will you lend money? Will you first check your friends credit score and then if he has the right score you can lend him a dollar on credit and interest. And if he or she doesn't pay up, then will a creditor come after him, etc.
In the near future money will be worth more than it is. A dollar bill will be worth hundreds of dollars because when we are no longer using it, then it will be collectible. Look at how rare and how much an Indian Penny, Buffalo Nickel, and Angel Dime are worth. I bet a dollar of paper money that this can happen to our paper money and coins and I'm not betting on this after it happens.
