If you count the inside of a fast food restaurant registers and then count the drive-through register, you’ll find that the drive-through’s register has more money. Here are a few reasons why that nobody’s talking about: The inside restaurant closes earlier, and meanwhile the drive through stays open. Many times I have seen customers walking up to a door at a fast food restaurant wanting to order from inside and not being able to enter because the door is locked. And the only way at that time to get food is by driving their car through the drive through. Here’s another reason why drive throughs thrive that isn’t talked about: the inside restaurant is closed because then the workers don’t have to clean up after their customers. The workers won’t have to spend their time wiping down tables, throwing out trash and cleaning bathrooms. Instead their time can be spent on making food and taking orders. And the last secret reason why drive throughs are heating up is because restaurants are actually encouraging it. Instead of someone eating inside and the garbage can filling up, they can take their trash with them while driving away.
