Always go for the gold, but if the number one prize is a silver award, then go for the silver. This is a funny point if I might say so myself, but it has a point. No matter what, if you're going to compete, don't be the one who throws in the towel. The judges of contests aren't looking for towels, they're looking to judge you on your performance. Let's say you're in a race and the runner is extremely fast, like superhero speed. Should you still compete? I say yes. Maybe the superhero looses his super speed power. Just maybe the other contestants drop out and you’re the only one in the competition. The judges have to choose you as the winner. Sometimes competitions are close and other times they are clearly unmatched. Though, there are still upsets that can happen no matter what the odds. If you give up, then that's the only thing upsetting.
